Who we are
The Aquagenuity® Foundation Inc. is a Georgia-based nonprofit organization, with administrative support from our fiscal sponsor, Captain Planet Foundation Inc., a 501(c)(3) environmental nonprofit. We advance equitable access to water data through community engagement. The Foundation is the nonprofit subsidiary of Aquagenuity Inc.
“Water is not being invented or created. Since the water we have is all the water we’ve got, we must guard this precious resource. That’s why we’re inviting you to become a Guardian of H2O.”
Why the data comes first
From concerned fifth graders testing water near a nuclear facility in South Georgia, to communities all over the world living in the shadow of AI data centers, agricultural runoff, industrial pollution and microplastic contamination, the question is always the same: what’s in our environment, and who’s accountable for what’s been done to it?
The missing layer
Every one of these shares a single root dependency: decision-grade data about water quality and scarcity. You can’t price the risk, fund the solution or hold anyone accountable without first knowing what’s in the water, at the hyperlocal level, in real time, continuously.
Before capital can flow efficiently into water systems, data has to flow first. The Foundation makes sure the communities living with these problems are the ones collecting that data, and the first to see it.
Our programs
Our programs make it easy for everyday citizens and local communities to take on the water issues where they live. Schools come first.

See the K-12 editionWater testing and water education for schools in under-resourced communities. Students collect the tap-level data no one else has, and learn to read what it means. Too young to vote. Old enough to be a Guardian.
Bring it to your schoolHost or join a community conversation about your local water. Neighbors, parents, coworkers and classmates read their local water data together and leave with one thing they’ll do.
How a conversation runsAn open-source AI project that will turn billions of data points collected by students and citizen scientists into actionable insights, to drive decision-making for environmental funding, infrastructure projects and public health interventions.

The eight rightsWho we serve
Schools, then universities, companies and cities. Every partnership starts with one person who wants to know what’s in the water.
We help students and everyday citizens track and monitor water quality on devices they use every day.
We help corporations fulfill their goals in sustainability and community engagement with turnkey solutions.
We help cities and countries respond to infrastructure failures, emergencies and disaster relief scenarios with hyperlocal water data.
How we engage a community
We empower regular people to save water. It’ll take all of us to reverse the damage we’ve done to our planet. These ten partners, together, raise the standard of water quality in a region.
At the center Guardians of H2O™
The work of the Foundation is powered by Aquagenuity®, a U.S.-based technology company that has received international awards and recognition from Google, Amazon and Apple for inventing the AquaHub™: the world’s first digital alternative to the water cycle to address hyperlocal water problems. By making water Sustainable, Accessible, Verifiable and Equitable, Aquagenuity builds systems that help us S.A.V.E. water.
Based in Atlanta and Switzerland, Aquagenuity is led by Founder & CEO Doll Avant, a Harvard-trained data scientist named Google’s International “Woman of Water.” Aquagenuity was named one of seven technologies saving the world’s waterways by Ocean Visions, and its work advances United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 6, 10, 11, 13, 14 and 17.
Aquagenuity Inc. is a technology company. The Aquagenuity Foundation is its separate nonprofit subsidiary.
Based on the critically acclaimed animated series Captain Planet and the Planeteers, Captain Planet Foundation (CPF) was co-founded in 1991 by media mogul Ted Turner and producer Barbara Pyle as a corporate foundation of TBS. In 2002, CPF separated from TBS and became a 501(c)(3) public charity, with the stated mission to work collaboratively to engage and empower young people to be problem solvers for the planet.
